Tired of boring Bow-and-Arrow-Gameplay? Feel uninspired by always jumping to high ground and simply using the strongest skill currently off cooldown? Do you enjoy the smell of gunpowder and the satisfying recoil provided by firearms? Then the Musketeer Classmod might just be the mod for you.

D:OS2 is a great game that encourages players to strategize and solve problems with creative solutions and ideas. Whilst Pyromancers or Assasins have a diverse arsenal of skills at their disposal, Rangers are left with very little creativity in their toolkit. The Mod was designed with a new Class in mind, the Musketeer that uses firearms to deal heavy ranged-DPS but require more finesse to unleash their high damage potential.

Firearms need to be reloaded when empty and can be loaded with different kinds of Ammunition. In order to clearly show the player his available Ammunition and currently loaded Ammunition-Type, a new Menu, the Ammobar will be available once a firearm is equipped. The Ammobar shows the current and maximum Ammunition of a player's current firearms and also preview the consumption and restoration of Ammunition a skill would provide.


The currently loaded Ammunition-Type is also displayed by a pulsating effect on the top part of the Menu.


The Musketeer Mod does not replace any game content and only adds more options. If your friends still fancy primitve bows and arrows, then let them be. Rifles are a new Weapon-type and not a direct replacement for bows or crossbows.

Installation Instruction

The Mod is available on the Steam Workshop!.

The Mod has the following Requirements:

  • Norbyte's Script Extender is installed
  • (Animation Plus) Mod from Laughing Leader installed and loaded before the Musketeer Mod

If you are missing any of the Requirements listed above, then the mod will not work.

Installation - Musketeer Mod

Firstly, make sure the Requirements stated above are met. In case you are missing any of them, there are instructions for aquiring them further below. The Mod is currently in open Beta and thus not yet available on the Steam Workshop. To install the mod, simply download the Mod and place it in the following folder:

"Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition\Mods"

Now, you are good to go! From the game’s main menu, navigate to the mod menu and activate Animation Plus and Musketeer. Make sure to place Animation Plus above Musketeer, as shown in the picture below and have fun playing the Mod.

Installation - Script Extender

The Script Extender can most easily be installed via Laughing Leader's Mod Manager. Download it directly from here, or visit it's Github Page and download it from the link provided there.
Once downloaded, unpack it wherever you want and start the Application. To install the Script Extender, press on "Tools" and click on the "Download and Install the Script Extender"-Option.

Installation - Animation Plus

Installing the Animation Plus Mod can be done by simply subscribing to it in the Steam Workshop. Alternatively, you can also download it manually here.
Subscribing to it on the Workshop will automatically place the mod in the correct location, when downloaded manually you'll have to put it in this folder: "Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition\Mods"

Features

Weapon Type: Rifles

The Musketeer Classmod introduces Rifles to the game as an alternative to traditional bows and crossbows. Unlike other ranged projectile-based weapons, rifles use ammonition and have to be manually reloaded. Reloading takes time and will occupy you until your next turn.

In total, 3 different types of rifles are available in this mod:

Matchlock
Moderate - High 8m 6-7 Slight deviation of the traditional Musket. With a slight advantage in firepower at the cost of range

Blunderbuss
High 4m 2-3 A deadly variation of close range firearms. The limited range and capacity it offset by it's big damage potential

A rifle’s attack range also dictates the range of all rifle-based skills introduced in this mod. A Blunderbuss will thus restrict your ranged firepower dramatically, as skills such as Buckshot and Rend the Marked will be harder to use effectively.

Mechanic: Marked Interactions

Most rifle-based skills have special interactions with Marked targets. Marked can be applied by a number of skills introduced in the Musketeer Classmod. The following spells can apply Marked one or more targets:

Gameplay

Think about how much Ammunition you want to spend in your turn, if you don't want to end up useless next turn because you're empty. All skills have their own purpose. Marking targets in advance is a good way to preserve Ammunition in the current turn and reap the rewards for it next turn. The following table contains details to all the available Musketeer-Skills.

Fire off a high caliber explosive round, dealing 80% damage and causing your target to get knocked back.
Damages all enemies behind the target for 70% damage.

Death Sentence

Mark a target, lowering it's resistances and reducing it's dodge chance.

Blitzkrieg

Dash a short distance, performing a quick partial reload, restoring 1 Ammunition and restoring a small amount of Physical Armor. Additionally grants 15% increased damage and set Hasted for 1 turn.

Covering Fire

Fire off all your current Ammunition in a area around your target, each dealing 100% damage.
The scatter radius depends on your distance to the target. The greater the distance, the bigger the scatter radius.

Tracking Shot

Fire a tracking round on a target, dealing 75% damage and Marking it.

Consumes 1 Ammunition

Marks target character


Rend the Marked
1 1 1 - 3 - Fin  WPN

Fire off a splitting shot, attacking up to 3 Marked Characters around you, each dealing 70% damage.

Consumes 1 Ammunition

Only targets Marked targets

Killing a target with this skill grants 1 Rend Stack for 2 turns. There is no stack limit.

Each Rend Stack increases your Finesse, Wits and Initiative by 2 points and boosts your Damage by 7%.


Rapid Fire
2 1 2 - 3 - Fin  WPN

Fire off 3 shots in rapid succession, quickly rechambering 1 round inbetween. Each shot deals 55% damage.

Each shot heals for 10% of your maximum vitality upon hitting a marked target

Consumes 2 Ammunition


Final Act

Fire off your last remaining round, dealing 120% damage.

Only useable when you have exactly 1 Ammunition left. Consumes 1 Ammunition

Deals 45% bonus damage against Marked targets

If this skill kills a target, set Hasted for 1 turn and recover 1 AP. Killing a Marked target replaces Hasted with Euphoria

Euphoria increases movement speed by 3m per AP, grants 2 AP recovery and 1 AP per turn. Additionally grants 25% Critical Chance and heals for 20% of your maximum vitality.


Steadfast
2 1 0 - 5 - Fin  8m

Increases the range of a targeted character’s ranged attacks and skills by 2m. Also increases Accuracy by 20% and grants bonus Physical Armor and bonus Magic Armor.

Decreases movement speed by 75% while active


Scattershot
3 2 2 5 - Fin  WPN

Fire a high caliber round that splits into 5 smaller projectiles in a 35 degree arc. Each projectile deals 50% damage.

Deals 10% Bonus Damage and inflicts Bleeding for 2 turns on Marked targets


Consumes 2 Ammunition


Throw Tripwire Flare
3 1 - - 3 - Fin  9m

Throw a Trip Wire Flare trap at a target location. The trap takes a turn to activate. Once activated, the trap will explode when a character steps on it, dealing high damage and Marking affected characters.

Reload - Incendiary

Reload your rifle with incendiary Ammunition.
Incendiary Ammo deals additional fire damage and ignites enemies.
Targets killed with incendiary Ammunition equipped will errupt in a flaming explosion, dealing heavy fire damage around in a small area.


Reload - Freezing

Reload your rifle with freezing Ammunition.
Freezing Ammo deals additional water damage and freezes wet or chilled enemies.


Reload - Piercing

Reload your rifle with piercing Ammunition.
Piercing Ammo deals a low amount of bonus piercing damage.
Attacking targets with piercing Ammunition equipped will cause your shots to pass through characters hit anything up to 5 meters beyond the target in a straight line.


Reload - Doom

Reload your rifle with experimental explosive Ammunition.
Explosive Ammo causes heavy explosions on impact, dealing moderate physical damage to all nearby targets.


Reload - Shocking

Reload your rifle with shock Ammunition.
Shock Ammo electrifies targets hit, dealing bonus air damage.
Upon impact, the effect of Shock Ammunition jumps to up to 3 nearby other targets.


Blazing Flare

Fire a Flare into the air, which explodes at peak altitude and applies Marked to all enemies in it’s area. Reveals invisible enemies.

Marks all enemies in it's area


Seeker Strikedown

Fire off 7 deadly seeker-missiles on every single Marked enemy character around you, each dealing 60% damage in a small area around it’s impact location.
